Welcome to our Friday Night Lights Series of the 2016 CrossFit Open here at Bowery CrossFit! Today is the first of five workouts that will span the next 5 weeks. These workout signify all the hard work you, the athlete, has put in over the past year. Bring your favorite beers, this is a long one, and come cheer on those competing in 16.1
20-minute AMRAP of overhead walking lunges, bar-facing burpees, and chest-to-bar pull-ups.
Take advantage of your chance to enter a national competition that is economical, free of travel, environment-friendly and can help to teach non-swimming adults how to swim!
The objective is to swim as far as possible in one hour in any pool you choose that is 25 yards or longer. Event results are sent in electronically so you can compare yourself to other swimmers doing the same event. Some people do the 1-Hour ePostal event for competition, while others do it for fitness; all who wish to participate are welcome. The recorded distance (total yards swum) that you submit determines the order of finish. If two or more swimmers report the same distance, a tie will be declared. To sign up, email firstname.lastname@example.org.

We can't thank all of you enough!
To celebrate the birthday, we will be enjoying snacks, cold brews, and great stories on Saturday, Oct. 17th from 7 - 11pm, or whenever Joe passes out.
See you there!
The October 2015 OUTWOD will be hosted by Bowery CrossFit.
Founded in New York City in 2011 by LGBTQ athlete and advocate, Will Lanier, OUTWOD™ has grown into the largest national initiative for bringing together LGBTQ athletes and their allies to sweat together in a safe, inclusive group fitness environment and to raise funds for local LGBTQ charitable organizations. The proceeds of the OUTWOD™events go directly to charity.
This month we are donating to a great organization called The Uprising.
About The Uprising:
The Uprising helps YOU make a difference. Make a big impact on your city and get closer to the results by pooling your time, your talent, and your treasure with other like-hearted people. The grantees this year are the Ali Forney Center and the 52nd Street Project - they are both experts in serving our fellow New Yorkers and have big plans to help our city flourish.
DATE: Saturday, October 17, 2015
TIME: 2:00pm - 4:00pm
WHERE: Bowery CrossFit, 285 Grand Street, New York, NY 10002
AFTER WOD SOCIAL: The plan is to stick around after the WOD and socialize at Bowery CrossFit. We will be getting some beer, wine, and other refreshments and will head to the roof to mix and mingle.

Time to show what HRCF is all about! Reebok and CrossFit HQ are sponsoring the inaugural CrossFit Night on Friday, October 16th at the Prudential Center as the Devils take on the San Jose Sharks. We will be selling tickets all week and rocking out as a full crew when we get there. If you are interested in the pregame WOD, it is a Chipper that you all can certainly crush! Unfortunately, we can only enter a max of 3 teams so let us know if you are serious. The WOD goes from 5-7pm with the game starting immediately after. We will all be together enjoying some Hockey and libations. The box that sells the most tickets gets to use the arena for 2 hours at a later date. Stair WOD anyone? Haha just kidding, or am I?
Sign up with Danny or Cara next time you are in.
Cost is $40 (cash only for now)

We are excited to bring aerial gymnast group Aerial Culture to Bowery CrossFit for an amazing 2 hour seminar!
Aerial Culture is an aerial acrobatics group lead by our very own Bowery member Mathieu Leopold!
In this class, we will focus on balance, core strength, the basics in aerial acrobatics and of course, lots of handstand work!
You will also get a taste of what it's like to be an aerial acrobat as we will be pairing you up for partnered gymnastics work. You've been taking barbells overhead for some time, now let's put that to work!
Seminar Duration: 2hr
Cost: $25 per person

Join the Bowery Crew for an evening of HEAVY lifting and Weightlifting magic.
Many Bowery members have been making HUGE gains in their olympic lifts in the JDI Strength Club.
Coach Jesse will be prepping many of the Barbell Club members for a meet on Sunday Sept 20th.
For those who aren't competing they will be maxing out their lifts. In honor of such an occasion, we invite you to come through, grab a beer or two and cheer them on! Who knows, you may even be inspired to PR your snatch as well!
Barbells and Brews
Friday Sept. 18th
Come show your support!
Slight change of plans for the Kickball Bonanza this time around. Due to some field restrictions, we won't be able to play our favorite childhood game... However, the reason is good as our very own HRCF Softball team will be playing in the ABL Championship Game! They fought hard all season to get there and could certainly use some fans to help finish the job. We encourage everyone to come out to cheer on our friends as they battle for that championship belt.
Beverages and camaraderie will be further enjoyed post game.
When: First pitch - 7:30PM
Where: Momma Johnson Field
See you there!
